The Engineering Supervisor assists the Chief Engineer in overseeing the daily operations of the Engineering Department. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance staff, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are in good working condition, and that preventive maintenance programs are executed efficiently. The Engineering Supervisor ensures safety, compliance, and high-quality service standards to support smooth hotel or facility operations.
Operations & Maintenance
Supervise day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks.
Oversee and support the maintenance of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, elevators, and fire safety systems.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment, systems, and public areas to ensure optimal performance.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, providing solutions with minimal disruption to operations.
Supervision & Team Management
Lead, train, schedule, and motivate a team of technicians and duty engineers.
Conduct daily briefings to assign tasks and review priorities.
Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
Ensure staff comply with safety procedures and grooming standards.
Preventive Maintenance & Records
Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and maintenance logs.
Assist in planning for major repairs, renovations, and equipment upgrades.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Conduct safety training and enforce safe work practices.
Support fire safety inspections, system tests, and emergency drills.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with other departments to address maintenance needs.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects.
Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance challenges, and progress to the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer.
Required:
Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
4–5 years of experience in engineering/maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Ability to lead and supervise a technical team effectively.
Good problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and be on-call.
Preferred:
Experience in hotels, resorts, or large-scale commercial facilities.
Certification in Fire Safety, HVAC, or related technical fields.
Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability practices.
