We are looking for a skilled and efficient Preparation Cook to assist with daily prep work in our Chinese kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth meal service.
Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, seafood, sauces, and rice/noodles according to recipes.
Portion and label prepped items for easy access during service.
Ensure freshness and proper storage of all food items.
Follow traditional Chinese preparation techniques as directed by chefs.
Assist with marination, blanching, boiling, and other pre-cooking processes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
Support chefs during busy service hours as needed.
Comply with food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards.
Monitor inventory levels and inform chef of shortages or spoilage.
Prior experience in a Chinese or Asian kitchen preferred.
Familiarity with knife skills and basic cooking techniques.
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
Fast, efficient, and able to work under pressure.
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.
