The Mixing Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the mixing equipment used to blend raw materials (e.g., rubber, carbon black, oils, chemicals) into homogeneous compounds according to specified formulations. This role is critical to ensuring the consistent quality of rubber compounds used in tire or rubber product manufacturing.
Prepare and verify raw materials according to the production batch card or mixing schedule.
Operate internal mixers, mills, or kneaders based on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Monitor mixing parameters such as time, temperature, speed, and material feed rates.
Ensure accurate weighing, loading, and unloading of raw materials and compound batches.
Perform in-process quality checks, such as batch temperature and consistency.
Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in the mixing area (5S compliance).
Complete production and batch tracking records, including process deviations or reworks.
Report equipment malfunctions or material issues to maintenance or supervision promptly.
Adhere to safety procedures including proper use of PPE and compliance with chemical handling protocols.
Support continuous improvement activities, such as reducing material waste or improving cycle times.
Education: Minimum SPM or equivalent. Technical or vocational certification is an advantage.
Experience:
1–2 years of experience in industrial mixing or rubber compounding preferred.
Fresh candidates may be considered with strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Basic understanding of rubber compound ingredients and their functions.
Ability to follow instructions, batch formulas, and maintain process accuracy.
Physically fit and able to handle raw material bags (up to 25kg).
Good organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with industrial safety standards and chemical handling.
Attention to detail and strong focus on quality and consistency.
Industrial environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and chemical fumes.
Shift work, including weekends and public holidays, may be required.
Use of PPE (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, respirator) is mandatory.
