The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in compliance with safety standards and company policies. This includes troubleshooting electrical faults, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Ensure electrical systems meet safety and regulatory standards.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery.
Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and effectively.
Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
Coordinate with other maintenance and engineering staff to ensure effective operations.
Assist in upgrading or modifying electrical systems and components.
Comply with all safety regulations and electrical codes (e.g., MS IEC, JKR, DOSH).
Education & Certification:
Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Chargeman AO, A1, or higher (preferred).
Relevant professional license or certification (where applicable).
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a similar role.
Experience with low and medium voltage systems is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Physical ability to work in confined spaces or at heights when required.
Basic computer skills (for maintenance reporting or diagnostics).
May involve shift work, overtime, or on-call duties.
Work may be indoors or outdoors depending on the task.
Must adhere to strict safety protocols.
